From Toronto
Hiya everyone, just putting a post to try to be an 'effective' blogger. hahha. And also because i must make full use of this really expensive internet pay station which costs $2 for 40 mins. I think Toronto is rather cool, it has a really huge china town and big shopping malls but also very nice archaic buildings. Thinking of doing Masters or PHD here. Only problem is that the winter weather is super bad. Especially with the wind factor its almost like fear factor episodes.
Besides having a bigger than Singapore Chinatown it also has "the world's largest bookstore" although i really suspect its a hoax and they named their store that. More disappointing though was that their books werent really cheap. They had some 80% discounts but only some. Anway, i am kind of tired and merely rambling. Maybe if i really get to do masters one day and can look back at this post and remember where might be a good place to go.
I watched King Kong in Toronto too. Also in another larger than life movie theatre. The escalator i think took 15 seconds to get from the ticketing booths to the screening areas. Well, really poignant place to watch King Kong i guess. I liked the film though, i really do think they made it into an action film but at least they tried to incorporate some meaning into it. And it was exciting and touching as well. A tad too long at over 3 hours but i enjoyed it quite a bit. Well thanks for indulging my rather ineffective blogging of just talking about my days in a foreign city. Off to Washington tomorrow and i guess people who watch a lot of Hollywood films can tell me more about the city even after i visit it.
